It’s been a tale of two seasons for the Arizona Coyotes in 2019-20. The team looked to FINALLY be rounding a corner at the season’s midway point. Goaltenders Antti Raanta and Darcy Kuemper were world beaters, offseason acquisition Phil Kessel seemed to finally find his game and the Coyotes were Pacific Division leaders.

Hell, things were looking so good for the ‘Yotes that GM John Chayka went out and acquired superstar Taylor Hall from the New Jersey Devils. Then… things went off the rails. First Raanta went down with injury, then Kuemper and… well that’s when the Coyotes started to pile up the losses.

The Coyotes are now officially out of a playoff position, but sit just one point back of the Calgary Flames for the final Wild Card spot. Now today, the team is dealing with some more bad news. Kuemper is out… again.

The Arizona Coyotes were expected to get back a key piece to their playoff-contending team, but that is no longer the case just yet: Goaltender Darcy Keumper will no longer play on Monday against the Montreal Canadiens after suffering an injury pre-game.
Kuemper has been sidelined with a lower-body injury since Dec. 19. According to 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station's , Kuemper was going to play on Monday night but sustained an injury and will not play. Antti Raanta will start in his place.
The Coyotes have gotten by with Raanta and Adin Hill while Kuemper has been out, but Raanta was day-to-day after being a late scratch for the team’s game at Boston on Saturday.

Seriously… is this team cursed? Or maybe it’s just Taylor Hall himself who is cursed?
