Stunning update on Jaromir Jagr contract negotiations.

It seemed a forgone conclusion that legendary National Hockey League forward Jaromir Jagr would re-sign with the Florida Panthers in the offseason, but for the first time it seems like there may be a gap between both sides.

George Richards of the Miami Herald has reported that the Panthers are currently still having talks with Jagr, and it sounds like they would like him to take a cut in pay, he made $4 million last season. 

According to Richards, Jagr has not been amendable to this demand from the Panthers, and one has to wonder if a rival team could approach Jagr and lure him away with a similar, or perhaps even better, offer.

That being said, Richards added that the Panthers appear to expect Jagr will be back on their roster next season. 

Only time will tell.
