Subban picks unusual ring for fiancée Lindsey Vonn!

Olympic gold medalist skier Lindsay Vonn officially said “Yes!” to P.K. Subban earlier this week when the New Jersey Devils defenseman got down on bended knee to ask for her hand in marriage. The athletic power couple have been dating for two years after meeting at the ESPY awards.

Out for the first time as an engaged couple on Monday night while attending the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards, Vonn and Subban spilled engagement details and had to talk about the ring on the champion’s finger. 

The 30-year-old defenseman opened up about his decision to go with an emerald engagement ring, an usual stone that has a special meaning for the couple.

“I’m not a big diamond jewelry kind of guy, so it took me a while. I had to wait for it to get shipped over from Colombia, so it’s a true emerald,” Subban revealed. “My birthstone is an emerald, her favorite color is green, so I figured that it was only fitting to at least start the conversation there. I think she wants to keep that. It’s something that she likes, but…”

“I’m not gonna change it. It’s perfect!” Vonn assured him.

Vonn went on to explain that she had no idea that Subban was going to propose, but knew he was the one she wants to spend her life with. 

Despite their busy schedule, Vonn and Subban promise to have fun planning their wedding. While they still don’t know when they will tie the knot, they love each other and know that’s the most important thing.
