Suspended player expected in lineup

Zac Rinaldo is no longer tending to a lower-body injury. He is, however, still tending to a five-game suspension handed over by the NHL.

Tonight, against the Blue Jackets, he gets a chance to play. Since this is a preseason game, it doesn’t count towards his suspension tally, but once the season begins the counter picks up from where it left off.

Rinaldo was suspended at the end of last season after illegaly checking Tampa Bay Lightning forward Cedric Paquette. Shortly afterwards the Bruins sent him to their AHL affiliate, where it didn't take long for him to be ejected from a game against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. He then received another suspension there when he went after defenseman Kane Lafranchise, landing a big hit deemed intentional for injury.

It is just a matter of seeing what he’ll do tonight against the Columbus team, but one shouldn’t expect much from him, nor see him in the final roster of the Bruins. Speculations say that he might be sent to the AHL (where he’s suspended indefinitely) and only called up when the Bruins need to have an imposing physical presence on the ice.
