Talbot’s future in Philly in jeopardy

Actions speak louder than words…

There is no doubt about it: Carter Hart has been a breath of fresh air in Philadelphia. The young goalie has been the best thing to come out of this bus wreck of a Flyers season and we all know his presence and excellence will become only more valuable to them.

Fans were shocked to see the carousel of netminders spinning though Philadelphia this season, however, it seems they might have to see more new faces coming to support Hart this summer.

At the trade deadline, the Flyers acquired Cam Talbot from the Edmonton Oilers who was said to be brought in to support Hart and make a difference for the Flyers. However, John Boruk of NBC Sports now reports that Talbot has seen just 93 minutes of action with the Flyers after waiving his no-movement clause to accept a trade and his future in Philly could now be in jeopardy.

There’s been no movement toward a new contract for Talbot, who becomes an unrestricted free agent on July 1, and the netminder could try his luck elsewhere.

When Talbot landed in Philadelphia, he seemed to have gotten lost in the mix with Brian Elliott returning from injury in late-February. Since, the Flyers have stuck with Elliott and Hart…

There are a lot of free agent goalies in the Flyers’ organization as not only Talbot is slated for the market, but so are Elliott and Michal Neuvirth. It remains to be seen what the Flyers will choose to do.

Hopefully, it is whatever is best for Hart.
