It took 78 games but the Toronto Maple Leafs played their first shootout of the 2018-19 season tonight against the Philadelphia Flyers and… well let’s just say that things didn’t go exactly as planned for Leafs superstar John Tavares.
With a chance to seal victory for his team Tavares picked up the puck at centre ice, took a stride and then… well this:
Yikes.
Double yikes.
Worse yet? Sean Couturier sealed victory for the Flyers on the very next shot. Triple yikes.
