This just in, the Toronto Maple Leafs have announced that captain John Tavares sustained a broken finger in last night’s loss to the Washington Capitals. He’s expected to be out of the team’s lineup for a minimum of two weeks.

Suffice it to say this is a HUGE blow to the Leafs. The 29 year old Tavares has three goals and seven points in eight games for the Leafs this season.

Meanwhile the team has had a hot and cold start to the season, going 4-3-1 through their first eight games.
