The Vancouver Canucks have announced that they’ve hired former goaltender Curtis Sanford its new goalie coach for the AHL’s Utica Comets

Canucks fans may remember Sanford from his brief stint with the team where he played 35 games over two seasons from 2007-2009 in a backup role to Roberto Luongo. Before retiring from pro hockey in 2015, Sanford had spent three years with the KHL’s Lokomotiv Yaroslavl.

The 37-year-old native of Owen Sound, Ontario also played for the St Louis Blues and Columbus Blue Jackets during his 15 year career.
