Tearful ceremony for the former Blackhawk!

Veteran defenseman Brian Campbell has officially announced his retirement on Monday, after an 18-season career in the NHL. Blackhawks TV graced us with an inside look at the 38-year-old's retirement press conference, earlier today.

The video showcases an emotional Campbell surrounded by his family prior to the officialization of his retirement.

Brian Campbell played 17 seasons in the NHL amassing 504 points in 1082 games. During the 2011-2012 season, while he wore the colors of the Florida Panthers, he was awarded the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy.

He will remain part of the Blackhawks organization, assisting in various marketing, community relations and youth hockey initiatives.
