The Anaheim Ducks defensive squad expected to be back on track in time to face Oilers.

Veteran defenseman Cam Fowler has been arguably the Anaheim Ducks’ most important defenseman this season, but an injury has thus far kept him out of the first round of the playoffs.

As the Edmonton Oilers are playing against the Anaheim Ducks tonight, coach Carlyle gave importan update to the Edmonton Journal regarding Cam Fowler and other important pieces of his defensive squad:

Fowler is trending towards being available. He’s very very close to being part of our (playing) group,” said Ducks coach Randy Carlyle.

Hampus skated before practice (Monday) but he’ll be with our full group Tuesday,” said Carlyle,

For the Anaheim Ducks, that’s important news as two key players should soon be back in the lineup, trying to stop Connor McDavid.

McDavid’s a special player with a special skill-set. If he’s not in the three fastest skaters in the league, we’re all liars,” said Carlyle. “But for us to totally focus totally on McDavid, that’s incorrect.
