The Calgary Flames have been bolstering their defense on trade deadline day and that trend is continuing.

According to a report from Calgary Flames insider Eric Francis of Sportsnet, the Flames have acquired defenseman Erik Gustafsson from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for what appears to be a conditional draft pick. The Blackhawks have reportedly been looking to move on from Gustafsson for some time, but no doubt Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman was holding out as long as possible in an effort to get the best possible deal ahead of the deadline.

Update: We still don't know what the exact return for the Blackhawks will be here, but according to Chicago Blackhawks insider Mark Lazrus it sounds like it will be "a couple of mid round picks" going back the other way to Chicago.

Update: Francis has confirmed that it will be conditional picks.
