The Vancouver Canucks may have lost arguably their best forward to an injury in garbage time.

According to Sportsnet's John Shannon, Canucks' center Bo Horvat is set to undergo an MRI in Pittsburgh after being injured last night. The 21-year old suffered the injury while blocking a shot in the final minute of Sunday's 4-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres.

It is unclear what the nature of Horvat's injury is.

The former first-round pick in 2013 has been one of the Canucks' best contributors throughout the season. The young star currently leads the team in goals and points, and trails only Henrik Sedin in assists.

In 56 games this season, Horvat has recorded 17 goals and 21 assists for 38 points on the campaign.

Losing him for any period of time would be a big blow to the team's offensive unit.
