The NHL Network recently released its list of the game’s top 20 centers as part of its #NHLTopPlayers series this month. While some of the names were obvious choices, Connor McDavid, Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Jonathan Toews, Patrice Bergeron and the like, there were some serious snubs toward the bottom of the list.

No love for Jumbo Joe Thornton or Matt Duchene? What gives? Here’s our list of the top five biggest snubs from the NHL Network’s Top 20 Centers:

5. Mikael Granlund - Minnesota Wild

4. Artemi Panarin - Columbus Blue Jackets

3. Joe Thornton - San Jose Sharks

2. Joe Pavelski - San Jose Sharks

1. Matt Duchene - Colorado Avalanche

Other names not included on the list include Claude Giroux, Ryan Johansen, Jack Eichel, Mikko Koivu, Nazem Kadri and Ryan Kesler. Those are some pretty good players. Not to take anything away from the 20 players included, but we’ll take the above mentioned players on our team anyday.
