The hockey word mourns the passing of legendary broadcaster

The NHL and the hockey world are reeling today following the passing of legendary broadcaster Dave Strader. The 62-year-old play-by-play voice of the Dallas Stars was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer, in June of 2016.

Following today’s tragic news many in the hockey world have come forward with not only their condolences, but also incredibly heartwarming stories.

Stars captain Jamie Benn was one of the first to offer his condolences:

Sad to hear the news this morning about our friend Dave Strader. Big part of the Dallas Stars family and will truly be missed.
