The insane story of how Brian Burke almost beat up Kevin Lowe in a barn!

In case you missed it on Monday, former NHL general manager Brian Burke joined the Spittin’Chiclets podcast to chat with Ryan Whitney and Paul Bissonnette. As you might expect, Burkey put on a Hell of a show and was full of entertaining stories from his days with the Canucks, Ducks, Leafs and Flames.

The now Sportsnet analyst shared the insane story of how he almost rented a barn just so he and Kevin Lowe could fight.

Lowe had challenged him to a fight and Burke refused to back down. He let Glen Sather know that he was in Lake Placid on a weekend of August and would rent a barn so he could beat Lowe up. 

Burke promised he would beat him up, drive him to the hospital and call it a day. 

He explained how his wife at the time overheard the conversation and couldn’t believe her husband’s plans. Burke does not know if Sather or his ex-wife contacted NHL commissioner Gary Bettman and told him of his plans: all Burke knows is that half an hour later, the commissioner called him to tell him he was NOT fighting Lowe.
