The New Jersey Devils have made their choice and revealed the #1 pick in the draft.

The debate is finally, the New Jersey Devils have made their choice. 

According to an official announcement from Devils general manager Ray Shero at the National Hockey League Entry Draft, Nico Hischier has become the first overall pick in the 2017 draft. 

It's a huge surprise although many pundits believed the Devils would lean towards Hischier. For months and months leading into the draft it seemed that Nolan Patrick was the clear favorite to go first overall.

Hischier is coming off an incredible season that saw him record 38 goals and finished with an incredible plus minus rating of +20 on the season.
