The National Hockey League's annual award for the most valuable player in the league is now down to just 3 candidates.

According to a breaking news report from Spoortsnet National Hockey League insider Elliotte Friedman, the league has just announced the 3 players who received the most votes. The Hart Memorial Trophy is handed down each year to the league's most valuable player and the 3 men who are still in the running for the award are the following:

Nikita Kucherov of the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins

Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers.

It is particularly interesting to note that none of the men who are nominated this year are still playing hockey at this moment, although this is of course an award that only factors in regular season performance. That being said it is somewhat surprising to see that among the 3 candidates this season there is not a single postseason win to be split among them.

Do you think anyone was snubbed this time around? Which of these 3 would get your vote this season?
