How sweet it is for Edmonton Oilers fans to see the team finally find some substantial success. The Oilers are 6-1-0 so far this season and are certainly looking to make that 7-1-0 tonight in Edmonton against the Red Wings who are in poor form.

Things are looking up. Connor McDavid is producing at an incredible rate. He already has 17 points in 7 games. You read that right, 17 points in only 7 games. But he is not alone. Veteran James Neal seems to be reborn after a terrible season last year with the Flames, Leon Draisaitl has at least one point in every game so far and d-man Oscar Klefbom is on a whopping 9 points this season.

Zack Kassian will get to keep enjoying his time on the first line playing alongside Draisaitl and McDavid. Alex Chiasson will also be staying put on the second line with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and James Neal. Mikko Koskinen will start in front of the Oilers' net, ahead of the experienced Mike Smith.

Here is how the Oilers are projected to line up tonight according to NHL.com correspondent Derek Van Diest:

Forwards:

Leon Draisaitl - Connor McDavid - Zack Kassian

James Neal - Ryan Nugent-Hopkins - Alex Chiasson

Jujhar Khaira - Riley Sheahan - Patrick Russell

Tomas Jurco - Gaetan Haas - Josh Archibald

Defensemen:

Oscar Klefbom - Kris Russell

Darnell Nurse - Ethan Bear

Brandon Manning - Matt Benning

Goaltenders:

Mikko Koskinen

Mike Smith

Markus Granlund will be left out tonight as he has failed to produce anything and to settle into the team so far this season. William Lagesson will also be a healthy scratch while Adam Larsson, Joakim Nygard and Joel Persson are recovering from injuries.

As for the Red Wings' lineup, it will feature a very strong first offensive line composed of Tyler Bertuzzi, Dylan Larkin and Anthony Mantha who recently had a 4-goal game.

The Oilers will be looking to keep their streak going but it won't necessarily be easy against the Red Wings who are going to fight very hard in order to avoid a fourth loss in a row.
