The St. Louis Blues are looking ahead, and one KHL star is set to make a comeback.

Vladimir Sobotka, who spent the last two seasons in Russia, is looking to return to the NHL. At 29 years of age and signed with the Blues for one more season at an estimated $2.725 million AAV, general manager Doug Armstrong is certain the former 2005 fourth-round pick will opt of his KHL contract to join the team he initially left:

“I spoke to the agent (Wednesday), and he said (Sobotka) will be here,” the GM told The St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

The kind of impact Sobotka will have is anybody’s guess, as he scored 28 goals over the last two seasons in the KHL and posted 123 points in 381 NHL games.
