In case you missed it last night, the Vancouver Canucks officially retired Henrik Sedin’s #33 and Daniel Sedin’s #22 into the rafters at Rogers Arena, but not before putting on an absolutely incredible pregame ceremony.

Canucks legends like Trevor Linden, Markus Naslund, Matthias Ohlund, Roberto Luongo, Ryan Kesler, Kevin Bieksa and Alex Burrows were all in attendance for the festivities, as was the man who pulled off the draft day trade to acquire the Sedins back in 1999: Brian Burke.

It's easy to forget now, but Burkey pulled off some EA Sports level trades to get the Sedins on that fateful day.

Reminder:

That almost seems too crazy to be true. In other words, it's a classic Burkey trade.

Another classic Burkey move? Bailing on your daughter's birthday party to make a trade.

Check out Brian's daughter Katie Burke with her reply to the above tweet:

But, DADDY! It's my birthday! Haha priceless!

Oh... and if you didn't see Bieksa's roast of the Sedins, it's a thing of beauty:

Boom. Roasted!

Seriously though, how well spoken is Bieksa? No notes, off the cuff, a total natural. Sportsnet has hired him to do games here and there, but they’d be smart to lock him up as a full time analyst or commentator, he’s tremendous.

Not to be outdone though, the Sedins themselves had a special message for St. Louis Blues defenseman Jay Bouwmeester well before they properly began their speech:

All class all the time from the Sedin twins. What a fitting evening.

How classy is that? But, should we really expect anything less from the Sedins? All class, all the time.
