The Top 10 most expensive Reverse Retro jerseys... so far.

The National Hockey League has finally unveiled it's full lineup of Reverse Retro jerseys for the 2021 NHL season and thus far I would say that the reaction from fans has been largely positive.

The one big complaint that I am hearing over and over again online however is in relation to just how much these jerseys are going to cost, something that is a perfectly reasonable concern given just how many people are struggling right now in the midst of this ongoing pandemic. Interestingly enough though not every team is charging the same price for their jerseys and in fact among the jerseys that have gone up for presale there is already a large disparity in price from the cheapest to the most expensive.

I've been fully behind the NHL when it comes to this initiative because I want the league to be able to recoup some of the losses they have suffered themselves as a result of the pandemic, but I do feel like they could have come out with a more fan-friendly price tag that would have made these jerseys much more accessible to everyone involved. I mean realistically does anyone believe that the NHL and Adidas aren't making a huge profit margin off these?

Keeping all of that in mind, here are the 10 most expensive jerseys of the ones that have gone on sale so far.

#1 The St. Louis Blues - $314

The Blues top the list at a whopping $314 and I gotta say that is a lot to ask for during these trying times. I will hand it to the Blues for releasing a truly amazing jersey but perhaps that is why they feel like fans will cough up big bucks to get their hands on it.

#2 Nashville Predators - $300

Like the Blues this one is extremely expensive and unfortunately for fans in Nashville I actually think this is the nicest jersey that they can look forward to seeing from their team all season. If you want what will be, in my opinion, the best Predators jersey available this year it's going to cost you.

#3 Buffalo Sabres - $265

Fans of the Buffalo Sabres are as diehard as they come so perhaps this one will sell at this current price tag but I honestly don't love the jersey. I wish they had gone with the old goat head from this era instead, and the "Buffalo" lettering at the bottom of the jersey seems off to me as well.

#4 Carolina Hurricanes - $265

I can't lie this is one of my favorites from this new collection of jerseys and even though it is currently among the most expensive I don't think it will have any trouble selling.

#5 Florida Panthers - $260

I love the old Panthers logo and while I understood the team's decision to move towards a more clean, soccer style, type of emblem this one really does it for me. It's on the higher end of the price range but it is also one of the better jerseys unveiled today in my estimation.

#6 Las Vegas Golden Knights - $260

I know this is a tribute to the Las Vegas Wranglers but I personally hate it. Fans in Vegas have proven to be diehard however and most of them have reacted positively so I imagine this one will be moving off the shelves quickly as well.

#7 Philadelphia Flyers - $250

I'm glad to see the Flyers charging less than some of their NHL counterparts but even at $250 I think it's a lot to ask during this difficult time for folks. The Flyers jersey is pretty underwhelming on top of it so I do question how much of a seller this will be for that franchise.

#8 Arizona Coyotes - $250

Like the Flyers I'm glad to see the Coyotes coming in at well below the $300 mark but unlike the Flyers I think the Coyotes have hit a home run with this jersey.

#9 Minnesota Wild - $250

There's something a little weird about the Wild using the North Stars color scheme when you consider that their history is technically a part of the Dallas Stars franchise, but the Stars don't really ever pay tribute to the North Stars color scheme. I love this Wild jersey and the fact that it comes in well below $300 makes it that much better.

#10 Pittsburgh Penguins - $240

Of the 17 teams that have opened their presale so far the Penguins rank on the bottom half in terms of price so that's great for their fans. Reaction to their jersey has been mixed however, but there is clearly a segment of the fan base that loves it.

Last but not least I will include a shout out to the team charging the least for their jersey and that is the Winnipeg Jets.

Bonus: Winnipeg Jets - $214

The Jets are charging by far the least of the teams that have started the presale, a full $100 less than the St. Louis Blues are charging for their own jerseys. I personally think the grey looks decent, but I know some fans have absolutely hated it so far. The good news is this one won't cost you an arm and a leg compared to some of the others.
