The top 10 players under 25

In his latest series of articles for The Athletic, NHL prospects expert and uber scout Corey Pronman has taken up the huge task of ranking the NHL’s top 100 players under the age of 25. While the full list can be seen here, let’s take a look at the very best:

10 Zach Werenski - Columbus Blue Jackets
9 Mitch Marner - Toronto Maple Leafs
8 Aleksander Barkov - Florida Panthers
7 Aaron Ekblad - Florida Panthers
6 Nikita Kucherov - Tampa Bay Lightning
5 David Pastrnak - Boston Bruins
4 Jack Eichel - Buffalo Sabres
3 Patrik Laine - Winnipeg Jets
2 Auston Matthews - Toronto Maple Leafs
1 Connor McDavid - Edmonton Oilers

What do you think of this list? Anybody missing? Mark Scheifele, Filip Forsberg and Nathan MacKinnon finished just outside of the top 10 and you could certainly make an argument for any one of them over Werenski. What about the order? McDavid is a no brainer, but Laine over Eichel? What about Pastrnak ahead of Kucherov?

Interesting choices, that’s for sure.
