It has been a tough week for Calgary Flames forward Matthew Tkachuk, he who watched helplessly as his team was eliminated from the first round of the postseason by the Dallas Stars in a humiliating loss.

Tkachuk watched from the stands as he didn’t play in the series after suffering an injury in the third period of Game 2 when he was sandwiched by the Stars’Jamie Benn and Jamie Oleksiak.

Many pundits speculated he has suffered a concussion and on Monday, general manager Brad Treliving confirmed the information, explaining how his star forward had indeed sustained a concussion in the second game of the series.

We can only imagine how much of a difference he would have been in this first round series against the Stars.

Instead, he was caught on tape as he reacted to his Flames’ humiliating elimination. He was shown tossing his hat and walking away from the ice in disgust. He simply couldn’t’ believe what he is seeing.

Treliving also revealed that more Flames players had been playing injured during the postseason. Rasmus Andersson was playing on a broken foot and Sam Bennett a torn tricep. Both were injured in the second contest of the qualifying round series against the Winnipeg Jets and kept pushing through the pain as the playoffs went on.

As for Tkachuk, we don’t know how he now feels and how long it will take until he is better and back to normal.
