Head coach Claude Julien is in a good spot when looking at the offensive power that the Boston Bruins now have. Having depth all along the centers, and young forwards who may make the cut, Julien is put in a place where he can be flexible with his lines.

Austin Czarnik, the 23-year old who’s making stride in preseason and camp, has become a favorite to make the roster. Naturally a center, he can also play on the wing and make things happen.

“For us, we like our players to be versatile and play different positions when asked to,” said Julien, talking about his current lines. With Frank Vatrano out for three months, Julien has no choice but to juggle his lines and test out different combinations. “Even when he comes back, he’ll be three months behind it not even more. So it’s one of those situations where we need to try different things here,” he explained.
