Things to watch in 2018: Could Brock Boeser win the Calder trophy?
Keystone Press

Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser is having quite a season so far! The rookie phenom, drafted 23rd overall by the Canucks in 2015, has scored 21 goals and added 17 assists for 38 points in 35 games played so far.

At this pace, he could finish the season with 47 goals and with a point total around 85 points. The Canucks are not having a great season so far, as they are currently seventh in the Pacific division with a record of 16-17-5. They had to deal with a lot of injuries already, and maybe we will see GM Jim Benning trade his older guys until the trade deadline to get younger players like Boeser to rebuild the franchise.

At least, Boeser is showing some great offensive upsides, so he is one of the rare positive points for Vancouver this season.

What do you think, Canucks fans? Can Boeser win the Calder Trophy?
