Could this be the end of a lengthy career?

There are a large number of National Hockey League veterans who have been offered professional tryouts from several NHL organizations this summer, and some suspect that is a result of some open spots in training camp due to the World Cup of Hockey, but noticeably absent from that list of veterans has been the name of defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo.

Despite the fact that he has seen very limited play over the past few seasons, Colaiacovo has found a place on NHL teams year after year, most recently with the Philadelphia Flyers and Buffalo Sabres. But Colaiacovo may not be willing to settle for a professional tryout offer this summer, assuming of course he receives one, because according to Russian reporter Igor Eronko, he has received two offers from the Kontinental Hockey League.

There have been no details regarding the offer, but what we do know is that the two offers have come from HC Sibir Novosibirsk and Ak Bars Kazan according to Eronko. That's not to say that Colaiacovo will sign in the KHL, but one would imagine if both teams bothered to write up an official offer, they have some belief they can lure the player out of the NHL.
