Three players highly likely to be traded this season.

The National Hockey League season isn't yet underway, but given that there is plenty of time to look forward during the offseason, many pundits are already speculating about which players could be on the move prior to the end of the 2017-2018 season.

In a recent article published for Bleacher Report, NHL analyst Lyle Richardson took a look at some of the names likely to be moved this upcoming season, but three names in particular stood out to us.

Jacob Trouba - Winnipeg Jets

It wasn't very long ago that there was immense trade speculation surrounding Jacob Trouba, and although that speculation was put to rest when he signed a two-year deal with the Winnipeg Jets, it will almost certainly pick up again this season as his current contract nears the end of it's lifespan.

It's quite clear that Trouba isn't happy with how he is being used by the Jets organization and it feels like only a matter of time before both the Jets and Trouba decide to move on.

James van Riemsdyk - Toronto Maple Leafs

Arguably the name most often mentioned in trade rumors over the course of the past year or so is that of Maple Leafs forward James van Riemsdyk. While all those rumors have never amounted to anything, with van Riemsdyk entering the final year of his deal it seems highly likely that he would be moved prior to the trade deadline, especially if the Leafs are out of a playoff spot.

Evander Kane - Buffalo Sabres

The Buffalo Sabres made no secret of their displeasure when Evander Kane once again found himself in trouble for his antics off the ice back in the summer of 2016, and the Pegula family has not been known to tolerate that type of behavior in their organizations.

It's for that very reason that there was wild speculation regarding a potential trade involving Evander Kane, and his strong performance late last season has likely done wonders for his value on the trade market.

Much like Trouba in Winnipeg it seems like it's only a matter of time before the Sabres and Kane eventually part ways.
