There is some action on the waiver wire on Wednesday as three players have been placed on there by their respective clubs.

The Detroit Red Wings have placed goalie Eric Comrie on waivers. As you might have imagined, Toronto Maple Leafs fans are eager to see if general manager Kyle Dubas will make a move and claim the netminder as a solution to his backup issues.

Comrie made his Wings debut last week when he faced his former team the Winnipeg Jets, but failed to record a win. Comrie suited up for the Jets from 2016-17 to 2018-19, winning two of five games. He was undefeated in four AHL appearances this season with the Tucson Roadrunners, the affiliate of the Arizona Coyotes, before a late November swap brought him to the Motor City.

The Pittsburgh Penguins also placed right winger Stefan Noesen on waivers, while the Calgary Flames let go of centre Austin Czarnik on there.

It remains to be seen if any of these players will be claimed before tomorrow’s noon deadline.

Kyle, you’re up, it seems…
