The Stanley Cup Finals can be a magical experience, especially for younger fans of the game, and for many it really is a once in a lifetime type of opportunity.

That's why when fraudsters try and scam fans out of their hard earned money during such a special event it really gets the blood boiling, but thankfully this time around there was a happy ending to the story.

According to a report from Yahoo Sports, the Nashville police have arrested three men after they tried to scam loyal hockey fans out of their hard earned money. From Yahoo:

A 32-year-old man, who was reportedly spotted holding a sign advertising Stanley Cup tickets, was found to be operating in connection with another man allegedly selling fake ticket stubs near Nashville’s Hilton hotel. A third man, 39, was allegedly caught trying to sell four counterfeit tickets for $800 each.

The Nashville Predators organization released a statement following the arrest by police.

“We work hard to limit fraudulent tickets for all Bridgestone Arena events,” said Nat Harden Senior Vice President of Tickets as per Fox 17. “We are grateful to be in a position of hosting sold-out Predators games and Arena events year-long and will continue to encourage fans to avoid secondary markets for ticket purchases.”

It's unclear how much of a penalty each of these three men are facing, but hopefully it's one severe enough that will deter them from engaging in such reprehensible behavior in the future.
