Clock is ticking for Draisaitl!

It's almost August and the Edmonton Oilers' German sensation Leon Draisaitl is still without a contract for the upcoming season.

Should Oilers fans be worried?

The answer is no for TSN's hockey analyst Dave Poulin, who believes the Oilers have not signed Draisaitl only because they were too busy dealing with Connor McDavid's contract. Last July 5th, Edmonton extended their young captain and recent Hart Trophy winner to an eight-year, $100-million contact.

Poulin is certain that the Oilers will sign Draisailt before the start of the season but he's unsure if they will give him a bridge contract or sign him on long-term deal. Yes, the German sensation has only played one full season in the NHL, but many believe he has done enough to earn himself and long a lucrative contract.

In 82 games last season, the " German Gretzky" scored 29 goals and collected 77 points.
