Timo Meier and Brandon Carlo drop the gloves just 27 seconds into the game!
Meier and Carlo go toe to toe.
We got a very early scrap between the Boston Bruins and the San Jose Sharks on Sunday night, and the strange thing was it came from two guys you wouldn't necessarily expect to see dropping the gloves.
It was Sharks forward Timo Meier and Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo that would drop the gloves just 27 seconds into this one after Meier appeared to take issue with Carlo. Carlo was engaged in a battle with Sharks forward Tomas Hertl and was knocked to the ice in the process, and it was while Carlo was down that Meier decided to get a few extra shots in on him.
Carlo, unsurprisingly, took exception to the free shots he was receiving from Meier and it would eventually lead to the two men going toe to toe inside of the faceoff circle. It was a back and forth affair with both men landing some good shots, but Meier took it a step further when he delivered one last shot to Carlo while he was down on the ice and the exchange already appeared to be over.
