This is hilarious.

Tom Wilson gives TJ Oshie a low blow before the start of the game.

We appear to have a budding bromance in Washington.

Hockey players, especially those that play at the National Hockey League level, have always been known to be incredibly superstitious engaging in various habits during both the playoffs and the regular season if they think it might have any connection at all to their successes or failures. These habits can come in all forms with the most infamous in the National Hockey League being the "playoff beard" but it can also be a specific food or drink and sometimes, like in this case, it even takes the form of a pre game ritual.

On Sunday Washington Capitals forwards Tom Wilson and TJ Oshie were getting prepared for their game against the Philadelphia Flyers and, in spite of the reports that the entire team could be out due to illness, Oshie and Wilson appeared to be in good spirits. Very good spirits in fact if their pre game antics are anything to go buy.

The two star forwards were being more than a little silly before the start of the contest trading mock blows with one another before Wilson landed the blow to end all blows, one that comes below the belt. Wilson, jokingly I presume, gave an unsuspecting Oshie a cup check from behind which then caused Oshie to act like he had just been delivered the worst low blow in all of low blows. To add to the dramatic effect Wilson then pushed him over, sending Oshie falling to the ice. Oshie would retaliate with a shot of his own after the fact and although the game is well under way now, I look forward to seeing where this particular pre game ritual might go.
