He really said that?

In today's league, common decency and political correctness are the norm. Under Gary Bettman, you better watch what you say and conduct yourself professionally at all times. This includes not splashing your former team with negative comments right after being traded.

Well, apparently Tomas Jurco didn't get the memo. He was part of the Red Wings for four seasons, playing about 159 games in the big team. He was drafted by Detroit back in 2011 as a second round, 35th overall. He was traded to the Blackhawks before the trade deadline and has played 6 games so far in Chicago

Now, here's the juicy quote:

''In Detroit, we were so bored, my girlfriend and I, we didn’t know what to do,” Jurco told the Chicago Tribune recently. “There wasn’t much to do. Here there’s so much stuff to do.”

Basically, the city of Detroit sucked and he was glad to move to Chicago. Additionally, he talked about the difference in both teams' strategies.

“The biggest difference is that here we’re told to make plays instead of just making safe plays and chipping it in and playing safely. Here you actually should create something if you want to stick in this lineup because there’s so many creative players. I try to play it safe and it doesn’t work here. You obviously can’t be risking it at certain times of the game or situation, but most of the time you should try to create something, hold onto pucks and don’t just chip it in and go for it.”

There you have it, Jurco being pretty bold about his former team. Needless to say, he will probably never wear the Red and White in the future. Pretty strong words for a guy who hasn't scored a single point in the big league so far this year!
