As we reported earlier, Gerard Gallant was fired by the Florida Panthers.

Now social media has exploded regarding the whole situation. First, Gallant was seen waiting for a Taxi outside PNC Arena after the Panthers lost to the Carolina Hurricanes. Then the storm began on social media. Players, Fans, Higher ups and all kinds of people around the NHL are up in arms at the fact Gallant was fired. Pierre LeBrun of TSN/ESPN even said that he thought the fix was in and that Gallant being fired was unfair.

There has been a lot said regarding that Gallant and management of the Panthers were not seeing eye to eye. I guess this has been proven to be right with what happened tonight. Gallant is loved around the league and he will definitely not have a hard time finding a new job. Las Vegas is still looking for their first ever head coach. Not saying it will be him, but his name is most likely on their short list now.

Most of the Panthers players are upset with the move. The team has had some bad injuries and have still been able to stay afloat. It will be interesting to see how far all of this backlash will go, because the Panthers brass are getting roasted right now.
