Top college prospect stiffs his current team to test free agency.

One National Hockey League team has just been stiffed in a major way by a player they expected to add to their roster for the playoffs.

According to a report from TSN hockey insider Bob McKenzir, NCAA forward Jimmy Vesey has decided not to sign with the Nashville Predators, the team that drafted him 66th overall back in 2012, instead looking towards free agency at the end of the season.

It's a huge blow to the Predators who reportedly altered the way they approached the deadline after Vesey had notified them he would be signing with them as soon as his NCAA season with Harvard game to an end. Predators assistant general manager Paul Fenton was a guess on Hockey Central at Noon today and admitted as much.

"We did alter our trade deadline plans," admitted Felton.

Vesey will now choose which team he signs with over the summer, he had 24 goals and 22 assists in 33 games with Harvard this season.
