There's no question that the current circus surrounding veteran forward Pavel Datsyuk has been very frustrating for fans of the Detroit Red Wings, with Datsyuk seemingly flip flopping when it comes to his decision.

Datsyuk initially appeared to tell the Detroit Free Press that he was done with the Red Wings, but when that interview was published at the end of the season Datsyuk came out to state he had yet to make a final decision, but now we may know the truth.

Despite Datsyuk's agent issuing strong denials of a deal already in place with SKA St. Petersburg, a top KHL executive has now come forward and stated that Datsyuk has in fact agreed to a deal and will be joining SKA. That executive is Gennady Timchenko the head of the KHL's board of director's and his statement is highly unlikely to be a fabrication,

It was Russian reporter Slava Malamud who broke the story, and it frankly appears to paint Datsyuk in an unfavorable light. Why issue all these denials and claim to still be pondering the decision when a deal is already done?
