According to a report from NHL insider Bob McKenzie of TSN and NBC, NCAA free agent Max Veronneau, who has received interest from 25 NHL teams, has reduced his list to “two or three teams”. He’s expected to sign an entry level contract any day.

It’s believed that two struggling Canadian teams, Veronneau’s hometown Ottawa Senators and the Edmonton Oilers, are making the biggest push.

The 23 year old forward put up 13 goals and 37 points in 31 games with Princeton of the NCAA’s Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), but put up 17 goals and 55 points in 36 games just a season ago.
