Top NHL player didn't know he was achieving an important milestone!

There are players who follow their stats religiously and there is Phil Kessel. Las night, as the Pittsburgh Penguins were hosting the Colombus Blue Jackets, Phil Kessel scored two goals in his 800th NHL game, including the game-winner in overtime, as the Penguins beat the Blue Jackets, 4-3. 

The fun fact is that Kessel had no clue it was his 800th NHL game.

“I didn’t even know until they announced it on the board. That’s a lot of games.” said Kessel to the media after the game.

Yes it is Phil, 800 NHL games is a lot of games! Moreover, Kessel scored 290 goals and registered 339 assists during that stretch while wearing the Bruins, the Leafs and the Pens jerseys.
