Top prospect called-up for the Vancouver Canucks

No, the Vancouver Canucks haven't called up Jake Virtanen to bench him again. 

They called their young netminder Thatcher Demko who is scorching hot in Utica since Richard Bachman's injury with a 5-2-0 record. The San Diego native posted a .909% save percentage and a Goal Against Average of 2.59.

This roster movement is due to Ryan Miller's injured ankle who doesn't seem to get better as the 'Nucks #1 goaltender wasn't on the ice for the morning skate.

Demko was in the net for the Utica Comets friday night in a game they lost 4-3 to the Binghamton Senators. It would be a surprise to see him play during his NHL stint but the Canucks are playing back-to-back games this weekend, we'll see.
