The Boston Bruins were missing an alarming number of players at their training facilities on Saturday morning but given the National Hockey League's moratorium on injury or illness reports it is incredibly difficult to gauge just how serious of an issue this may be for the Bruins.

First, on Saturday the Bruins took to the ice once again as part of their training camp in Phase 3 of the National Hockey League's Return to Play, but there were several players who were notably absent from camp. At the forward position we had David Krejci, Charlie Coyle, Chris Wagner, Sean Kuraly and Nick Ritchie all absent, that is without including David Pastrnak and Ondrej Kase who have already been sidelined, and on defense the team was without veteran Bruins blue liner Torey Krug.

Of course you can now speculate to your heart's content about what suddenly caused a large number of players to suddenly go missing but given the league's new rules it is impossible for us to know definitively at this time. Given the sheer number of injuries I have no doubt that most people will suspect this has something to do with COVID-19, but Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy made it sound like these guys could be back in relatively short order which would make that considerably less likely.

Also missing from practice on Saturday was veteran Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask. Rask has been pulled out of a few practices already and although there is again no official injury report, we have a pretty good idea of what is ailing Rask. Rask was seen favoring his glove hand during the initial practice he had to cut short, which is of course proof of nothing, and on top of that during a recent conference call Rask could be seen sporting a split on his finger. Again there is no official report regarding an injury to Tuukka Rask, but I can't genuinely come up with another reason Rask might have been seen wearing a split on his glove hand, after seemingly hurting his glove hand and missing time at what is now multiple practices.

Don't take my word for it, you can take a look at the image and judge for yourselves.
