After watching legendary enforcer Tie Domi dominate the league like few other enforcers during his heyday with the Toronto Maple Leafs, it takes some getting used to seeing the name ‘DOMI’ on the back of a Montreal Canadiens jersey. But Tie’s son Max Domi is doing his best to carve out his own niche.

The 24 year old Domi broke out in a big way during his first season the Habs in 2018-29, scoring 28 goals and 72 points in 82 games. It was a true coming out party after two struggling seasons with the Arizona Coyotes and served as notice to the rest of the league that the younger Domi has arrived as a legit NHL star. Still, despite having offensive talents that his father could only dream of possessing, Domi has a little bit of his father’s penchant for ruffling feathers. Which he did yesterday afternoon by calling out Leafs fans and saying that Habs fans are on a “whole other level.”

Let’s be real… Habs fans and Leafs fans are equally as passionate. Getting into a pissing match about which fanbase is more supportive seems a bit silly. But then again, this is the oldest rivalry in the sport and it’s been awhile since the two Original Six teams have had much of a beef. Here’s hoping one of the Leafs’ stars responds to Domi’s words so we can get this thing cooking again!
