This is the last thing the Toronto Maple Leafs wanted to see in the final game of the 2018 - 2019 National Hockey League regular season, a meaningless game no less.

On Saturday night the Maple Leafs were facing off against the Montreal Canadiens in the final game of the regular season and in spite of the fact that there was nothing but pride on the line, both of these teams came to battle. Nothing was given in this one and although the Leafs managed to get out to an early lead the Canadiens had no intention of going away quietly in this one, in fact at the time of this writing the Canadiens have clawed their way back into this game and are currently tied at 3 goals a piece with the Maple Leafs.

However the Leafs will not be too concerned about the outcome of this contest and instead will be much more concerned about the health of their players coming out of this game. The Leafs have had 2 close calls in this game with both forward Zach Hyman and goaltender Frederik Andersen having been shaken up at different moments during this game. It was Hyman who initially seemed to have suffered the more significant injury when he took a hard shot to the head and went crashing down to the ice in a heap. Due to Hyman's body language it initially looked like he may have been knocked out by the shot, he did take it right off the ear after all, but thankfully that was not the case and he was able to respond to the trainers who came out onto the ice to assist him.

It did create a few hilarious moments back on the Leafs bench however, moments that appear to indicate that Hyman is going to be ok. Hyman would go back to the Maple Leafs bench, where he would remain before coming back out onto the ice a few minutes later, and when he got there he had just one question for Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Mike Babcock.

"Who shot that," Hyman appeared to ask.

The normally stoic Babcock could not help but burst into laughter at the question, although to his credit he did not rat out the man who had fired the puck. The Leafs would get another scare a few moments later when the Canadiens would crash the net of Frederik Andersen, but Andersen was able to dispel concerns about his health rather quickly in spite of looking somewhat shaken up after the play.
