Tortorella answers phone call from reporter’s Mother during press conference

Anyone who knows John Tortorella knows that he has one very simple rule during press conferences: Turn your f***ing phone off!

Over the years Tortorella has made an example of reporters whenever their phone has gone off during one of his pressers. Today, however, Torts went a different route when Columbus Blue Jackets reporter Tom Reed’s phone went off. It was Reed’s mother calling and Torts decided to take the call himself.

Classic Torts! In all truth though, Torts usually hands out a fine for infractions like this, but given the Blue Jackets’ acquisitions the past couple days he was likely in good spirits. Consider yourself lucky, Mr. Reed.
