In a move that’s sending shockwaves through the Columbus Blue Jackets organization, Jackets head coach John Tortorella has elected to scratch starting goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky for tonight’s HUGE showdown against the division rival Pittsburgh Penguins. Instead Jonas Korpisalo will get the start with newcomer Keith Kinkaid backing him up.

Uh… excuse me?

The two teams are just two points apart in a tight Eastern Conference Wild Card race and Torts decides to scratch his #1 goalie? What the Hell is going on here?

Torts defended his decision saying that Bobrovsky’s tough history against the Penguins wasn’t part of his reasoning. Rather, Goalie Bob has just simply been overworked and could use the break.

Maybe so but… is the first game of a home and home series against a divisional rival in a tight Playoff race the best time to rest your #1 goalie? A controversial move to say the least…
