Torts shows up at his press conference reeking of beer!

The Tampa Bay Lightning ended up getting swept in the first round of the playoffs after one of the best regular seasons ever as the Columbus Blue Jackets capped a stunning sweep of the Presidents’ Trophy winners with a 7-3 victory Tuesday night. 

The team finally moves on to the second round of the series for the first time in franchise history and the fans in Columbus were loving it. 

As head coach John Tortorella headed to meet with reporters for his postgame press conference, he had to explain why he reeked of beer. The bench boss was in a great mood to explain what happened in the last minutes of the game that led to his new perfume. 

The crowd was packed and loud, and Torts was loving it. Unfortunately for him, he got a couple of beers poured on him as his team put up a few empty-net goals to ensure the victory. 

That’s why he came into the room smelling of booze.

“I had beers poured on me!”

Of course, the Blue Jackets’ coach didn’t mind! 

We can all remember when he called out the reporters for smelling bad after Game 1 in Tampa; it was only fitting to see the media ask about him.
