It has been a rough week for Columbus Blue Jackets head coach John Tortorella, and, as we all know him, the man is taking out on his own players. The Jackets are now riding a four-game losing streak, after losing 4-3 at the hands of the Winnipeg Jets last night and Torts is not pleased about it.

After the Jackets' third loss on Wednesday, the head coach ripped into his own players when he faced the media, claiming he's got only one centre playing for the team.

“It was a god-awful team I coached the other night . . . It was a team that threw their uniforms out to play . . . played with absolutely no balls at all . . . The team needs to be reset pretty quickly.”

While some people calm down after such an outing, Torts was only getting started.

On Thursday again the Jets, forward Anthony Duclair, who has been a healthy scratch for some games this season, played just 24 seconds during the entire game after he failed to clear the puck on Winnipeg’s first goal of the game. It was his only shift of the night.

When asked about Duclair's performance and the reason for warming up the team's bench, Tortorella was brutally honest, showing no mercy for his player.

"The meetings we had today about some of the things we needed to do, if you're not ready to play you're not going to play."

While it is fun to blame Tortorella and his temper, you have to admit that Duclair needs to be better. The forward is now playing for a fourth team in five years and has not impressed anyone with his play.

We bet he will hear the message his head coach sent him last night, or at the very least, we hope he does. If not, it will provide us another fun Torts story to tell you.
