Trade Alert: Avs dump $4.75 million contract in preparation for Panarin negotiations

The Colorado Avalanche and Arizona Coyotes have officially made a trade with Carl Soderberg heading to the Coyotes in exchange for defenseman Kevin Connauton.

Suffice it to say though, this appears to be a salary dump on the part of the Avalanche though as Soderberg carries a hefty $4.75 million price tag for next season. He’ll become a UFA in the summer of 2020, however.

With the deal, the Avs clear a whopping $38 million in salary cap space ahead of what's expected to be an extremely busy free agent period.
