This just in, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Colorado Avalanche have reportedly hooked up on a blockbuster deal with Nazem Kadri and Tyson Barrie as the centerpieces.

It's worth noting that the Avs are retaining 50% of Barrie's $5.5 million annual salary. The 27 year old right-shooting blueliner is slated to become a UFA in exactly one year from today. The 24 year old Kerfoot is an unsigned RFA who put up 15 goals and 42 points with the Avs last season.
As for Kadri, he's signed at a $4.5 million cap hit for the next three seasons. Avs GM Joe Sakic seems quite pleased to have landed the fiery center, saying:
"Nazem is a proven goal scorer and a fierce competitor who plays in all situations. He is under contract for the next three seasons and will immediately fit right in as our second-line center and improve our scoring depth."

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the club has acquired defenceman Tyson Barrie, forward Alex Kerfoot and a sixth-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for forward Nazem Kadri, defenceman Calle Rosen and Toronto's third round selection in the 2020 NHL Draft. Colorado will retain 50 percent of Barrie's AAV ($5.5 million) as part of the transaction.
Barrie, 27, skated in 78 games for the Avalanche during the 2018-19 season and registered 59 points (14 goals, 45 assists), which ranked seventh among NHL defencemen. In the 2019 Stanley Cup playoffs, Barrie collected eight points (1 goal, 7 assists) in 12 playoff games. In 484 career NHL regular season games, all with Colorado, Barrie has registered 307 points (75 goals, 232 assists), while collecting 14 points (1 goal, 13 assists) in 21 career Stanley Cup playoff games.
Internationally, the Victoria, British Columbia native has represented Canada at the IIHF World Hockey Championships on two occasions, winning a gold medal in 2015 and later capturing a silver medal at the 2017 tournament. He also played for Canada at the 2011 World Junior Championships, collecting a silver medal.
Barrie was originally drafted by Colorado in the third round (64th overall) of the 2009 NHL Draft.
Kerfoot, 24, appeared in 78 games for the Avalanche in 2018-19 and recorded 42 points (15 goals, 27 assists) before registering three assists in 12 Stanley Cup playoff games. In 157 career NHL regular season games, the Vancouver, British Columbia native has registered 85 points (34 goals, 51 assists), in addition to a pair of goals and three assists in 18 career Stanley Cup playoff games.
Prior to joining the Avalanche, Kerfoot skated with the Harvard Crimson for four seasons, serving as co-captain in his senior season. At the conclusion of the 2016-17 season, he was named a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award and earned NCAA (East) Second Team All-American, ECAC Hockey First Team, All-Ivy League First Team and New England D-I All-Star recognition, in addition to capturing the ECAC Championship. In 121 career NCAA games, he recorded 123 points (36 goals, 87 assists).
Kerfoot was originally selected by New Jersey in the fifth round (150th overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft. He signed a two-year, entry-level contract with Colorado on August 24, 2017.
