Trade brewing between Oilers and Blues?

It could be a great fit!

You say trade and Edmonton Oilers in the same sentence, and people expect you to say that young forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins will be moved. Not so fast...

According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, one Oilers forward is expected to move sooner than later, and he is not RNH. In his weekly 31 thoughts, Friedman suggests that Patrick Maroon will be moved before his teammate, and that the St. Louis Blues might be the perfect fit.

"Wonder if hometown St. Louis would be an option. The Blues are looking for scoring depth, and Maroon can give you exactly that," writes Friedman.

In 25 games this season with the Oilers, the St. Louis native has recorded seven goals and 14 points. He might be willing to go back home and the Oilers could land an interesting return.

Friedman believes Maroon could be the first to go.

We will have to keep an eye on that.
