Trade Rumor : 25-year-old defenseman on the market.

As per Lisa Dillman, NHL.com Staff Writer, a new name might be considered as a potential target as comes March 1st. Core defensive player that can bring an offensive dimension to his game is highly valuable in today's hockey.

We all know so far that the Colorado Avalanche are trying to deal 3 potential forwards in Matt Duchene (being the most cited among them), Jarome Iginla and Gabriel Landeskog. According to Lisa Dillman, Joe Sakic could be tempted to deal one of his promising 25-year-old defenseman.

Tyson Barrie is now on the list of a few team as a potential target. Dillman dropped the names of the Edmonton Oilers and the Calgary Flames as potential teams projecting Tyson Barrie as a target by march 1st. Barrie has the potential to be that type of defenseman but he did not develop himself as fast as we expected in Colorado. Maybe some fresh air and a good veteran/mentor to teach him up how to be more dominant might be good for him.

What do they have as assets?

Again, according to Lisa Dillman, here's the players those team might have to offer by the trade deadline :

Edmonton Oilers : RW Jordan Eberle, D Oscar Klefbom, C Ryan Nugent-Hopkinss

Calgary Flame :  Brandon Hickey, Rasmus Andersson and Oliver Kylington
